World Management Committee's Effect on the Economy

Even though the Committee is recognized as the world's ruling body, the practice of socialism is not officially in effect as of yet. In fact, many of the original economic systems are still in place. America is still the bastion of capitalism it's always been, while Canada still has one of the most efficient health care systems in the world. The reason for the lack of change in those area was to make the change in government go over as smoothly as possible, and cushioning the public upset to a degree.

As one might guess, the Committee was careful enough to foresee where it would eventually lead. In nations where capitalism are the dominant proceedure, well over ninety percent of the operating countries in that region are Committee-owned. In socialist and communist states, the WMC is the ruling body in the first place, so there is little trouble in that regard. Third world nations are still suffering to some degree, but this is lessened thanks to Committee funded aid that is normally given for publicity purposes rather than humanitarian beliefs.

In America, small businesses and even a few more wealthy competitors exist. These companies are allowed only so much profit as business owners are heavily taxed so as to keep them from cutting too deeply into the government's pie.
