Earth

The future state of Earth shares many characteristics of what is looked in past decades. Most cities and monuments are still standing. America still has many of the same advantages and problems it did thirty years ago: Overpopulation, economic ups and downs, civil rights issues, even school shootings still pop up from time to time. Then there are the aspects we all expect of the future. Computers that are faster and more efficient. Cars which are designed more aerodynamicly with each new model. And the gap between the lower and upper class has continued to widen as many sociologists have predicted.

Though the most notable change of all was the inception of a one world government. While officially only two years old, the World Management Committee has established a strong foundation within America and everywhere else on the planet. President Michael Fredericks sits at the Committee's head, while a world wide senate works under him carrying out duties within their own regions.

Local governments, such as those for towns and cities, remain fairly much in the hands of normally elected officials and "old fashioned" police departments. However, the real power lays in control of the federal government. Conflicts between individual nations are virtually non-existent as the WMC is quick to deal out lethal force at the first hint of a large scale skirmish, be it a legitamate threat or a well-constructed rumor.

The last real insurrection experienced was in protest of the WMC coming into power. Outspoken protestors had formed a people's militia declaring that President Fredericks was shredding the very Constitution. Media officials under the WMC's impressive bank-roll responded by saying the Constitution had grown outdated and that the coming change was for the betterment of all. The protests continued, and the Committee responded in their own way. The new world order moved against the malcontents, herding them all the way to a forested area of North Dakota. The militia's last stand was an utter failure as bombers sped across the air and unleashed a blazing holocaust ending the insurrection along with hundreds of lives.

Since then, the Committee has remain unchallenged by any and all outside forces.
